It has been a long week and life has been all over the place, and at ti
times I feel like I've been all around the place but Ive definitely learned that things will be OK as long as I keep moving. So tonight I've to catch up with the Family Tom the Ox and attend my boy Breezy LoveJoy's show at the Grand Star Jazz Club. The thing about his music is that he can inspire the feelings that can help you change the world. I've had the opportunity to see his growth as a musician and as a man. DREAMERS MOVEMENT

Our ability to inspire and help others by using our talent and skills is beautiful thing. As you aspire towards the goals you set for yourself it is important to maintain a consciousness of the world that is going on around you. Musician / Musical Director Rob Lewis, assisted by what could be called the dream team, has found multiple ways to stay grounded and connected to the people who believe in and support him. One of those is through the Dreamers Movement, where they recently sent out the call for winter coats for homeless residents in Harlem, NY.

No matter how high you fly it is always great when you can assist others so that they too can fly.

TIME

I stumbled upon a new mix tape featuring one of my favorite artist Talib Kweli, who has teamed up with Hi-Tek for the new Reflection Eternal album coming soon.

We all have been mis-educated by our own sense of time. It has been cut out of our minds, our hearts, our biological being, and turned into a way to control us. "Time is money" right, well if you don't have time does that mean you don't have money, or vise-versa, if you are rich do you have time. LOL. Understand that TIME, the hustle, the game, the life, the world, is constantly moving when you're asleep and when your awake. Leave your fears in the trashcan and remember that your time will come.

Work toward eliminating your fears, because your time will come. I mean...

THE KAMPAIGN

I was introduced to this artist in 2004-05 if I recall, during a studio session with Breezy Love Joy, Jason Johnson and my sister. All I could remember is my sister saying this guys vocals are amazing prior to having the opportunity to meet him. They went on to record a couple of tracks one in particular I wish you could hear. It was titled "Here for you". That song was and still is relevant to the times and I think it would definitely inspire and help a lot of people these days. So if you see Kampaign, Breezy Love Joy, or Jason at a show or in the supermarket tell them that you want to hear that song.

WHAT'S GOING ON?

Whats going on?!

These were the words Marvin Gaye belted out in attempts to accurately dipict the society in which he was a witness too. He was able to connect to the hearts of those around him through his very descriptive lyrics and through the heart filled passion heard in his voice.

If you have the ability to effectively translate what's going on in your own community do it in the way you see fit.

Music is inspiration. Understand the gift that GOD has given to you, for you to give away.

I am about to grab a pen and ink these heavy thoughts, or it could be the salt, but anyways. All black athletes, black entertainers, white people, black people, yellow people, etc etc. just remember we are not that the percentage of time that the US poisoned itself with slavery is far greater than that of the days we have spent with a new president. Change also mean$$$ change, regardless of the colors presented by our president. You have a responsibility to use your heart and spirit to inspire feelings within those around us. Realizing that we cannot change the World but we can change ourselves in order to see the world in a positive light. Many years before a dream of any King becomes reality for he is only one person with his own heart, but the actions of his heart can affect the hearts of generations. Seek truth and wisdom through God. Have the knowledge and compassion to forgive yourself and others as Jesus would do for those he knew would harm him. Have a universal Love for others, yourself, GOD and life without fear. Life is guided by your heart not your mind. Life is Love Blog coming soon.
